A Chicago native, Jessica Truett has made her home in New Orleans' Riverbend neighborhood since 2004. Her background includes time spent living and working abroad, as well as more than a decade managing high-volume records in a legal environment. Her love of the city's history and culture eventually drew her toward a career in cultural preservation. Already a Bachelor of Arts graduate of Tulane University, she returned to school to earn her Master of Library and Information Science and a Graduate Certificate in Archival Studies from Louisiana State University in 2025. Her archival and museum experience includes roles with the New Orleans Jazz Museum, the University of New Orleans Earl K. Long Library's Special Collections, and the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation Archive. In July 2026, Jessica joined the team at the Museum of the Southern Jewish Experience as its Archivist.
