Hillary Atkinson is a New Orleans native with a diverse background in storytelling through acting, singing, writing, production (theatre and film), and graphic and set design. In 2013, she graduated from Occidental College in Los Angeles with a B.A. in Theatre with an English minor. In 2014, she graduated from the University of Bristol in the U.K. with an M.A. in Film and Television Production. Hillary then returned to New Orleans, where she spent several years working in the local film industry as a production designer and set decorator before transitioning to marketing and social media management. Outside of her work at MSJE, Hillary is an avid reader and a passionate content creator with growing “Bookstagram” and “Booktok” accounts under the handle @enchantedbyhillary, where she shares reviews and content about her favorite books and authors, and advocates against book bans and censorship. Additionally, she is actively involved in the local Jewish community as a fifth-generation member of Congregation Gates of Prayer in Metairie, where she sings in the Kol Simcha choir. She lives in Metairie with her husband and their menagerie of pets. Hillary is thrilled to be a part of the MSJE team and to tell the museum’s stories.
