My Father’s Journey from Warsaw Ghetto Smuggler to Chattanooga Home Builder
January 25, 2025
In honor of International Holocaust Remembrance Day 2025, Mark Wygoda presents an illustrated talk on the inspiring life of his father, Hermann Wygoda, a German-born Polish Jew who lived a covert life during the Holocaust by smuggling food into the Warsaw ghetto. Hermann went on to command an Italian partisan assault brigade, and after WWII, he immigrated to Tennessee, where he founded the Wygoda Building Corporation in Chattanooga.
