Great Jewish Websites

Going to Google (www.google.com) is a great way to find resources in general – Jewish resources included! For example, entering “jewish education” turns up 70,600 hits! Just looking around and gaining familiarity with sites is a good idea. This is by no means a comprehensive list. These are just a few of my favorite sites – there are many, many more out there. But here are a few sites to start building your Jewish-resources-on-the-web-library!

For Music

For Holidays and Hebrew Calendars

  • There are many websites which provide dates and times online. For example, find candle lighting times for anywhere in the world at www.candlelightingtimes.org; find a calendar with all the parashot (Torah portions) for the year, Hebrew/English date conversion, and most other Jewish-calendar related topics at www.hebcal.com
  • The Orthodox Union’s website provides a lot of information about holidays and traditional observance www.ou.org/chagim; for a more liberal approach, try the URJ or United Synagogue websites (www.urj.org or www.uscj.org); for lots of resources, try www.aish.com/holidays

For Torah and Text Study

  • For younger students, Torah Tots provides some fun resources and activities – sort through to find what is appropriate for your group. www.torahtots.com
  • Aish HaTorah has a parshah study for every level – family, youth, lively, young adult…! Shabbat weekly, holiday, on and on! Definitely visit hwww.aish.com/torahportion
